Scope
Supply supervision, labour and equipment to complete the part deconstruction and demolition of Swanbank "A" Power Station, Ipswich.
Summary
Trio was engaged to carry out the part deconstruction and demolition of the Swanbank "A" Power Station. Work includes part deconstruction of equipment which has been sold to third parties (including mills, condensers, transformers, conveyors, pumps, motors and misc. equipment) demolition of remaining equipment, steelwork, concrete structures, pipe work and removal and disposal of asbestos cladding, conveyors, precipitators and misc. tanks. A critical part of the contract, which was successfully completed by Trio Industries Pty Ltd, was the induced collapse of 3 large (133mt high, 7000 tonnes of concrete concrete stacks. All 3 stacks were dropped at the same time with a 10 second delay between each stack.
